Digital Video Group, Inc. worked with WDBJ-7 to deliver HD News Production to Roanoke Virginia! The project included a Ross Vision 4ME HD production switcher, Hitachi Z-HD6000 studio cameras, Vinten pedestals, Evertz MVP monitor wall utilizing JVC monitors, routing from Snell and AJA up/down conversion. HD programming is provided by Harmonic video server. DVG also delivered a Grass Valley Stratus system which allows WDBJ to produces six daily newscasts that deliver breaking news and weather updates, as well as locally produced sports programs for viewers across Virginia.
For the acquisition side of the project DVG delivered sixteen GY-HM890 ProHD shoulder-mount camcorders. These camcorders allow real time HD streaming over 4GLTE to a Zixi server located at the station. The signal is then decoded on a Teradek Slice and feeds the signal live to air.
