DVG partnered with our friends at FX Design Group on the new news set for WDBJ-7 in Roanoke Va. FX did the set design and lighting and DVG did all the on set technology (monitor walls, studio cameras, processors etc.). NEC X464UNV-2 displays for the 3×3 monitor wall as well as the larger 3×6 wall were utilized. The walls were fed by a TvOne CorioMaster video processor for image manipulation. 3 x Sharp 80″ displays were mounted vertically as well. AJA conversion gear was used throughout this project. More details on this project can be found at NewscastStudio.
To improve the on air look DVG delivered Hitachi Z-HD6000 studio Cameras. The camera heads are connected via fiber in the studio to the Hitachi CU-HD500 CCU and controlled from RU-1000VR remote panels in master control. Fujinon optics were selected to round out the camera configuration. The Z-HD6000 is engineered to satisfy the highest TV program production standards while satisfying the ever-pressing need to reduce capital equipment costs. The Z-HD6000’s implement the new 2.6MPixel 2/3-inch MOS RGB sensors that provide Advanced Color correction & Skin tone detail with F12 standard sensitivity and over 60dB of video headroom .
