DVG partnered with the Smithsonian Channel on their new shared storage environment for their Washington D.C. facility. This 2 petabyte system, designed and integrated by DVG, was based on Quantum Xcellis utilizing StoreNext Advanced Data Management. This scale out SAN storage solution is used for their daily editing of projects that will be broadcast on the channel. StorNext provides the Smithsonian Channel with high-performance capture, collaboration, processing, and preservation of their data. The storage is divided into two tiers for more efficiency and to increase their workflow speed by allowing fiber and ethernet clients to the NAS component. The Xcellis Workflow Director is used system management and enables the creative team to focus on their productions rather than the storage.
