News Room Automation and Playout System

DVG partnered with WETA-TV / PBS NewsHour in Arlington, Virginia on their new newsroom editing and playout system. The system was designed and integrated by DVG and included Avid iNews for news room automation and management, Avid ISIS storage with Interplay data management, and multiple Avid Airspeed’s were used for channel playout and base band ingest. Programs are edited on Avid Media Composers that are networked clients to the Avid SAN. Telestream Vantage was integrated for transcoding and file processing. AJA and Ensemble Design conversion and terminal gear was used throughout the project as well as a Ross Video router. A Spectra Logic system was installed for backup and archival.
