HD Broadcast Encoding System - Liberty University

Digital Video Group, Inc. recently partnered with Liberty University to provide them with a HD Broadcast Encoding System for the Liberty Broadcast Network. The encoder was based on a Harris NetVX system to deliver the transmitter an ASI stream and Harris Test and Measurement equipment was used throughout. Telecast Viper systems were used to connect the head end to the transmitter via fiber. AJA FS1's were used for up-conversion and down conversion as well as audio embedding. A Triveni Guide Builder PSIP Generator was used as well as Evertz routing and switching, all of which was monitored with JVC broadcast monitors.
HD SD Routing System

Digital Video Group recently installed an Evertz Xenon HD/SD 64x64 routing switcher with associated conversion gear for the Navy News at the Pentagon. Additional Evertz, AJA, and Convergent Design terminal gear was used throughout facilitating access to all sources in the facility from their Avid editing systems. Access to and control of the sources are via an easy-to-use on-screen GUI on each editor streamlining their day-to-day production workflow, and eliminating the expense of additional redundant decks.
HD Sports Editing & Acquisition
Charlottesville, Virginia
Digital Video Group, Inc. designed and installed a shared area editing environment for the University of Virginia Athletics Department. The system included Final Cut Pro Editors utilizing a Facilis Terrablock for storage. The system uses Final Cut Server for media management and Quantum LTO for backup. Footage is acquired via Panasonic P2 HD camcorders and mastered on DVCPRO HD recorders also provided by Digital Video Group.
Complete Production Facility - Virginia Union University

Digital Video Group, Inc. installed a complete television studio for Virginia Union University. The system included Ikegami studio cameras, Panasonic production switcher, Panasonic DVCPRO editing VTR's, DNF Controls editor, and Mackie audio board. The system also included an Avid editing and graphic system. DVD and tape duplication was included for copies. Ikegami and Panasonic monitors were used through out the system and Telex was used for intercom.
Turnkey HD Television Studio - James Madison University
Harrisonburg, Virginia
Digital Video Group, Inc. recently installed a complete turnkey HDTV studio for James Madison University. The system included a Grass Valley production switcher, Ikegami HD studio cameras, Chyron graphics, and a Wheatstone audio console. Miranda multi imaging was displayed on two Panasonic 65" plasmas. Clear-Com intercom systems were used through out. The studio is the first High Definition system of its type in the state.
