DVG Partners with the For Alison Foundation

DVG partnered with the For Alison Foundation to donate a news camera package for WMHS-8, the student run news channel at Martinsville High School that Alison had attended. Alison Parker, a newscaster for WDBJ 7, and photojournalist Adam Ward were shot and killed while doing a live broadcast on Aug. 26 2015 in Moneta Virginia. “WDBJ has been a long time customer of ours, and the incident last year was a tragedy and really hit home” stated Alex Martin CEO of Digital Video Group. “When Chris Hurst from WDBJ approached us about this I knew we wanted to be part of it for Alison’s legacy” said Martin.

The package included a  JVC GY-HM170U 4K camcorder with Sachtler tripod and bag. The camera kit was presented to the students by Barbara Parker, Alison’s mother on June 30th. An article about the presentation can be found here.
